Patrick Crowley is the strength and conditioning coach at Florian Martial Arts Center. For the past five years, he has been training everyone from professional athletes, to children, to senior citizens and everyone in between.
It’s easy for any coach (any person for that matter) to put someone through a workout and make them tired. You can tell any professional athlete to do as many burpees as he/she can in 2 minutes and they’re going to get exhausted. However that won’t necessarily improve their performance when it counts.
Our approach is to first assess our client’s quality of motion. Based on these results, we coach proper mechanics and continue with primary training.
The overall goal is to improve one’s quality of life, whether it’s helping them perform better in jiu jitsu (or any other sport), having more energy to play with their kids and support an active lifestyle.
